At Epstein Hebrew Academy in St. Louis, Ms. Butler’s 1st and 2nd grade reading students read the book, “Froggy Pictures.” The focus of the lesson was to identify similarities and differences between Froggy and his friends. After reading the book, they discussed similarities and differences aloud between Froggy and his friends, such as, they were all babies or duck has feathers. Then, for the writing section, students were to write a sentence for each character describing their baby picture and being sure to differentiate between the other characters being just smaller versions of themselves, whereas, Froggy was a baby tadpole verses baby frog. They did an amazing job with identifying similarities and differences.
