After reading “The Secondhand Bookshop Mystery,” Students in Ms. Tochey’s 4th Grade wrote a review of the book.

The first step was to become familiar with a book review. Ms. Tochey read to them, and they discussed a few book reviews from the newspaper or magazines.

Then students made lists of events in the story that were scary or mysterious. The lists helped them form their opinions and organie their thoughts.

Students wrote a rough draft of the review and read it to the class. After making some revisions they wrote their final copies.
