The Kindergarteners at Holy Cross School in KC have been working on their 2D and 3D shapes. They must
identify how many sides and what the shape looks like. The students were given manipulatives with the different
types of 2D shapes. The shapes were square, rhombus, triangle, hexagon, diamond, and circle.

At first, students interacted with a visual aid about shapes. After the visual, students were given a winter mitten
to identify the different 2D shapes and their color words. Each shape was colored with a different color. They
practiced their fine motor skills by coloring in the lines/shapes.
