The Holy Cross 6th Grade Math students have worked on Prime Factorization. As the sixth-grade math students work towards using addition and subtraction of fractions, they reviewed their knowledge of prime factorization to find equivalent fractions and common denominators, along with simplifying or reducing fractions. The pupils used manipulatives to demonstrate the arrays of a given number.

They also demonstrated their knowledge of prime factors by completed a hundred’s chart and they learned the process of finding the prime factorization through a Factor Tree.

The also learned how to find the square root of a given number and how to calculate the cube of a given number through prime factorization.
