The School 3rd Grade Math students are learning their multiplication facts through 6’s. The students have progressed well through their 5’s, so we spent some extra time and effort to explore the multiplication fact families of six.

The pupils begin with a simple sheet that graphed different square units of multiplication problems, such as 4×5 or 3×3. Then they worked on a single sheet of graph paper to do the products of six. The students did a variety of activities that concentrated on the multiplication fact families of 6.

They had times tests, manipulatives that requires them to make a key so they could skip count on a hundred’s chart, and they made their own multiplication/division chart for all numbers to 11.

The class continue to practice the 6 times table through drill and practice!
