Ms. Kamp’s 1st graders at Sacred Heart read “The Good Dog.” They discussed why Orson was not really a good dog and why the author may have given the book that title. Students then wrote about Orson and the not so good things he did. They practiced saying words slowly and listening to sounds to write the words. They also reread each others writing and checked for punctuation, spaces between words were in the sentences. The 1st graders did an excellent job applying all skills. They are active and eager learners!
